FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: OCTOBER 3, 2014
TABITHA SIGNATURE EVENT RAISES HIGHEST AMOUNT IN ITS HISTORY
Tabitha, your answer for Elder Care, welcomed nearly 350 friends and supporters to the Country Club of Lincoln on Sept. 25 for the organization’s annual signature fundraiser.
Raising almost $115,000 in a single evening to support Tabitha’s essential services throughout 28 southeast Nebraska counties, guests bid on unique “experience” auction items, with three grand prize winners, each with a companion, jetting off the following morning on a private plane for a spontaneous weekend getaway weekend in Jackson Hole, Wy.
The event’s 2014 donation total is the highest amount ever raised at Tabitha’s annual event, and all contributions go to directly benefit the more than 3,000 Elders Tabitha serves daily.
“It was a truly amazing night,” said Christie Hinrichs, Tabitha president and CEO. “What a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate life’s experiences and the work of Tabitha, made possible by so many selfless and generous individuals and companies.”
Tabitha thanks its major sponsors for their support, including Resort Lifestyle Communities, Immanuel, Dr. Rod and Debbie Basler, Assurity Life Insurance Company, Davis Design, UNICO Group, Inc. and Union Agency, among many other corporate and individual sponsors. Tabitha also thanks the numerous community dignitaries in attendance: Nebraska State Senator Bill Avery, Lincoln City Councilmen Doug Emery and Jon Camp and Councilwoman Leirion Gaylor Baird, Lancaster County Commissioners Deb Schorr and Larry Hudkins, the latter accompanied by his wife, former Nebraska State Senator Carol Hudkins.
As a nonprofit organization serving 28 Nebraska counties, Tabitha’s love embraces a society where everyone is valued and empowered to live life to the fullest, with compassionate at-home support, innovative living communities, exceptional rehabilitation, health care and hospice services.
